Merchant Processing

Tom has been in the credit card processing business for about 14 years.  Originally meant as a part-time business, Tom quickly realized the need for lower rates and fees and knew if he provided them, his name would spread through the business community.  After about three years doing this part-time, Tom closed his other business, (a currency exchange business), and devoted his efforts 100% to assisting business owners, nationwide, in lowering their rates and in a better understanding of the processing business.

Word of mouth advertising has been Tom's only method of advertising for about 5 years. 

Location;

Tom lives in a very small town on the Western edge of the Adirondack Mountains in Northern New York.  Lake Champlain is less than a quarter mile away and Burlington, VT is the nearest city.

From this location, Tom has helped hundreds of businesses across the country reduce processing costs, better understand credit card processing and assist in technical problems.

He is usually available 7 days a week.

Pricing Credit Card Processing:

Pricing credit card processing is much like buying a new car...there is a "base Price" and then extra charges for all the "options".  A new car with a base price of $20,000 may end up costing $30,000 once all the "extras" are added in.

Credit Card Processors will tell you a "base rate", (sometimes very low to attract your business), and often neglect to tell you the "extras"...surcharges for things like rewards cards, business cards, keyed in transactions, T&E cards, etc. 

The best way to judge processor's prices is to compare their "effective rates"...what does the entire bill figure out to be?  To do this, you divide the total costs for any given month by the total bank card sales. 

Tom's effective rates usually come in somewhere between 2.10% to 2.50% depending on various factors.  Competitor's rates usually come in well over 2.75% and even as high as 4.00% or more.
